North Lakes: Eden Lake

Nature has given us so many wonderful creations. When we want to free our mind from all the thoughts then we can be with nature. Few places help us more to be with nature and feel it, appreciate it and be with the harmony of its creation. One such lovely place is 'Eden Lake', one of my favorite places in Brisbane. It has lives in it! Full of blue lotus, their sight is just mesmerizing. Turtles one can see the whole family of turtle, all size from mini baby ones to fully grown up ones. They are really cute. Then next comes their natural friends eels, yeah they are friendly with turtles. Eels are very quite and clam, they have a beauty the way they come to surface with undulating movement. Well fresh water small fishes they are in abundance. Sorry ‘Fishing not allowed’!! Then we have moorhens the silence breaker, with full of energy swing from one side towards the other. Their group is very friendly with group of mallard ducks. They swim together. Next is the beauty, black swans they are amazingly graceful. My favorite darters, what a skilled bird!! One has to be there to see how swift they swim being submerged in water to catch fishes. And they prick fish with their beak come over the surface of water rotates fish with beak like an expert artist and then gulps it in one go!! Darters they gulp two three fishes and feel like sitting on the bank and drying their wings. They all are very friendly with the people around. They all love eating bread pieces. How fast time flies!! But it is really a relaxing to be there and spend sometime.
